Juncus

Several of these Rushes are found wild in North America. Few are decorative enough to merit planting in the garden; however, Juncus effusus spiralis, the Corkscrew Rush, is an attractive plant and useful for planting in moist ground. It grows up to 3 feet high with a spread of 2 feet and forms tufts of spiraling, leafless, evergreen stems that are often prostrate. In the summer, tiny, greenish-brown flowers are produced in compact heads.

Pot Cultivation

This Rush needs moist soil and prefers a sunny location. It will flourish by water or in a moist border.
